Where calls land

Call Tracking Metrics and Softphones

Call tracking counts calls at the number; the softphone question is where those calls land. Answer points include your landlines and mobiles — and, via SIP termination, your own SIP-capable system.

Softphone and delivery questions

Can tracked calls ring a softphone?

Tracked calls land on your answer points. Beyond landlines and mobiles, SIP termination delivers calls directly to your own SIP-capable system — which is where most softphone setups sit. Current SIP pricing is on the pricing page.

Does the call tracking software run inside my softphone?

No — the tracking counts calls at the number, in the network, before they reach any device. Your softphone just receives the call like any other endpoint.

What is SIP termination?

Delivery of your 1300 or 1800 calls straight to your own SIP-capable phone system instead of a landline or mobile — $8 a month with calls at 4c a minute, per the current pricing.

Do the metrics change if we answer on softphones?

No — the per-number attribution happens before delivery. Whichever device answers, the call is still counted and recorded against the campaign number that was dialled.

"Call tracking metrics for softphones" usually hides a simpler question: if my team answers calls in softphone apps, does call tracking still work? Yes — because the tracking and the answering happen at different layers. Tracking counts calls at the number, in the network. Where the call lands afterwards is a delivery choice: your landlines, your mobiles, or — via SIP termination — your own SIP-capable phone system, which is where most softphone deployments live.

The two layers, kept separate

Layer 1: tracking. Each campaign displays its own tracking number, and the platform counts and records calls to each number against its campaign. This happens before any device rings, so the attribution does not care what answers.

Layer 2: delivery. The call travels to your answer point — a landline, a mobile, or via SIP termination directly into your own system, where your softphones register. The delivery method changes the endpoint, never the metrics: a call counted to the radio number is a radio call whether it rings a desk phone, an Android, or a softphone on a laptop.

SIP termination, priced

For teams answering on their own SIP-capable system, SIP termination delivers your 1300 or 1800 calls straight to it: $8 a month with calls at 4c per minute, per the current published pricing. It is the delivery route for PBX-and-softphone setups, and it sits alongside your inbound number plans rather than replacing them — the numbers keep their plans and behaviour; the PBX does the answering.

What we do not claim

We do not claim softphone apps with built-in call tracking, or metrics collected inside third-party softphone software. Our reporting lives in the web console; the softphone is an endpoint. The per-number model's boundaries are stated in how call tracking software works, and the platform anatomy in call tracking platforms.

Set-up is the same regardless of endpoint: pick tracking numbers from the available numbers pool, choose plans on the pricing page, and answer wherever your team works. The workflow is on the call tracking pillar.
